Our Roots

In 1972 Mrs. Hilda Vinck-Leañez founded the carnival group Jumping Hats. Together with family members and friends they participated in Curaçao's carnival parade for the first time in 1973. Jumping Hats has made an enormous contribution to Curaçao's carnival during the 36 years that followed.

It has always been Hilda’s dream to carry this tradition on to the next generation of ‘karnavalistas’. This inspired the group's name, "Hats off!" meaning “to express admiration for someone who has done something praiseworthy.” With that said, this new generation of ‘karnavalistas’ take their Hats off! to Hilda for the many accomplishments achieved during the past years and set new and bigger dreams for the future. The band Dreams joins in to form Curaçao's hottest carnival group Hats off to Dreams!

The carnival tradition is a gift that we certainly and continuously cherish. Hats off to Dreams wants to make a contribution to this phenomenal cultural event as one of the new and hottest carnival groups.

In March 2025 we want to share our latest creations with you.... our friends, family and all of Curaçao (Kòrsou kompletu!). Are you ready for Carnival 2025?! We certainly are!
